Catherine Susana Esprit

(Tampa / Gainesville)

Cuban-born Catherine Esprit is a multidisciplinary fine artist known for her captivating works. She expresses herself through 2D visual art such as paintings and collages, fashion design and knitwear, and street photography on film and digital formats.

With ethnic roots in the islands of Cuba and Dominica, her perspective is intimately tied to Caribbean culture and the African diaspora.

Her work explores surrealism, futurism, realism and abstraction while expressing the full range of human emotion, from solemn to whimsical. She notices patterns in life that evoke emotion and inserts them into her pieces, across all mediums.


Catherine’s paintings have been featured in multiple gallery exhibitons including the GFAA’s Veiled, Hooden & Hidden in 2024. She sold her largest painting to date in early 2025, measuring at 7.8 by 5.5 feet.

Her clothing designs have been worn on the musical stage and she continues to style artists and performers.

She is the official photographer for Tampa-based jazz group Tha Banned, her favorite photos are featured here on the website under photos.

Catherine is a member of the Tampa-based collective Cigar City Records.
